Electric heating.

Electric radiators, underfloor heating and immersion, sized to the room and to the supply rather than to a box on a shelf.

Who this is for. Extensions, garden offices, flats without gas, and anyone moving off an old storage heater system.

Sizing is the whole job

An undersized electric radiator runs constantly and never warms the room, which is expensive and miserable. An oversized one cycles and wastes money. The calculation is not complicated but it does have to be done, against the room volume, the insulation and the window area.

Where electric heating makes sense

  • Extensions and garden offices, where extending the gas system is disproportionate
  • Bathrooms, where underfloor heating is genuinely transformative for the money
  • Flats and properties without gas, particularly replacing ageing storage heaters
  • Alongside solar and battery, where you are generating or storing your own cheap electricity
Check the supply before you buy anything.

Electric heating is a serious load. Adding several kilowatts to a property that already has an EV charger and an electric hob can take you past what the main fuse allows. We check that first, which occasionally saves people from an expensive mistake.

How it works

  1. Room by room sizing

Volume, insulation and glazing, against what you want the room to feel like.

  2. Supply and load check

Making sure the property can carry it before anything is ordered.

  3. Installation

Dedicated circuits where needed, controls positioned sensibly.

  4. Set up and certified

Programmed with you, then tested and certified.

Questions we get asked

Is electric heating expensive to run?

Per unit, electricity costs more than gas. It is efficient at the point of use though, and on a time of use tariff, or with solar and a battery, the sums change considerably.

Can you do bathroom underfloor heating?

Yes, and it is one of the best value comfort upgrades there is. Fitted under the tiles with a proper thermostat and a floor sensor.

Can I replace my storage heaters?

Yes. Modern electric radiators with decent controls are a significant improvement, and we check whether the existing circuits can be reused.

Will my supply take it?

That is the first thing we check. Sometimes the answer is no without an upgrade, and it is much better to know that beforehand.
